A SCARCE OLD BLACK LAMP FROM THE DOCKLANDS RAIL

A SCARCE OLD BLACK LAMP FROM THE DOCKLANDS RAIL

This particular item is a very scarce Black Lamp from the ‘Docklands Rail’, possibly from a section at TILBURY DOCKS, ENGLAND. It is date marked 1944 and is a candle conversion object, which was possibly done during the 2nd World War due to the shortages of oil substances. It is now over 60 years old and is in a great condition, the size being approx. 9" x 4½" (23cm x 11.5cm).

AN OLD PAIR OF MYSTERY LAMPS MADE OF TIN CONSTRUCTION

AN OLD PAIR OF MYSTERY LAMPS MADE OF TIN CONSTRUCTION

Here we have 2 mystery lamps made of a tin construction. As seen from the pictures provided, they are 3-sided lamps, one being Red and one being Blue. Would seem to be possibly Port & Starboard old colours. Were they maybe at one time signal lamps? They are an interesting pair of lamps which make distinctive display pieces. The items are in good condition all round and are an unusual find !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
