CONDITION --
HISTORY -- The Union-Castle Line was a British shipping line that operated a fleet of passenger liners and cargo ships between Europe and Africa from 1900 to 1977. It was formed from the merger of the Union Line and Castle Shipping Line.

CONDITION --
HISTORY -- The P&O Line first introduced passenger services in 1844, with a leisure cruise departing from Southampton to the Mediterranean. These voyages were the first of their kind and the forerunner of modern cruise holidays. The company later introduced round trips to destinations such as Alexandria and Constantinople and underwent rapid expansion in the later half of the 19th century, with its ships becoming larger and more luxurious.

HISTORY -- In 1934, White Star merged with its chief rival, Cunard Line, which operated as Cunard White Star Line until 1950. Today it is most famous for the innovative vessel Oceanic of 1870, the Olympic class ocean liners, including the ill-fated liners RMS Titanic and HMS Britannic, and the tender SS Nomadic.

HISTORY -- The shipping company that this vessel worked under the India Rubber Limited was originally incorporated as a private limited Company at Hyderabad on 6th November, 1981 under the name India Rubber and Allied Products Private Limited. The Company subsequently changed its name of India Rubber Limited and was converted into a Public Limited Company in terms of special resolution passed on 21st February, 1992 under the Companies Act, 1956.

DESCRIPTION -- From the Buries Marks Line shipping company and is an as used on board dining knife and fork. The items are in a very good condition and a very rare find and show on them the company flag.

CONDITION --
HISTORY -- The Buries Marks Line company was formed in 1930 and their first ship purchased in 1932, however due to the freight depression this ship was laid up in the River Fal for the next two years and was then sold. The company remained dormant until 1938 when it was revived as the London branch of the French company Louis Dreyfus. Two ships were lost to enemy action during the second world war, but the company expanded rapidly after 1945 with the purchase of several tramp ships.

HISTORY -- In 1878 Thomas and Christopher Furness commenced ship owning and created the Furness line shipping company, and in 1883 Christopher Furness purchased an interest in the shipyard of Edward Withy and in 1884 bought the company outright. In 1885 Christopher Furness collaborated with Thomas Wilson to form the Wilson-Furness Line to operate services between Newcastle and New York and by 1891 the fleet contained 18 ships and Furness, Withy & Co was founded.

HISTORY -- P&O (formally the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company) was a British shipping and logistics company dating from the early 19th century. Formerly a public company, it was sold to DP World in March 2006 for 3.9 billion. DP World currently operate three P&O branded businesses, P&O Ferries, P&O Maritime and P&O Heritage. P&O Cruises was spun off from P&O in 2000, and is now owned and operated by Carnival Corporation & plc. The former shipping business, P&O Nedlloyd, was bought by and is now part of Maersk Line.

DESCRIPTION -- From the Cunard White Star Line this is an as used in service dessert spoon dated 1930's/1940's and is marked with company name on the front.

CONDITION -- Very Good
HISTORY -- Cunard White Star Line was a British shipping line which existed briefly between 1934 and 1949, due to the merger between the Cunard Line and the White Star Line after both companies experienced financial difficulties. Cunard-White Star controlled a total of twenty-five ships (with Cunard contributing fifteen ships and White Star ten). Both Cunard and White Star were in dire financial trouble, and were looking to complete enormous liners: White Star had Hull 844 - RMS Oceanic III and Cunard had Hull 534, which would later become RMS Queen Mary.
