CONDITION -- Very Good

HISTORY -- RMS Andes was a 26,689 GRT steam turbine Royal Mail Ship, ocean liner, cruise ship, and the flagship of the Royal Mail Lines fleet. She was the second Royal Mail ship to be named after the South American Andes mountain range. In 1929 that RMS Andes was converted into a cruise ship and renamed Atlantis.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- For almost 40 years the SS Canberra served the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O) admirably. Canberra started her illustrious career in 1961, taking emigrants to a new life in Australia, but as global transportation and travel habits evolved, so did Canberra in order to survive.

DINNER MENU FROM THE P&O LINE VESSEL THE SS CANBERRA DATED MAY 1989

DESCRIPTION -- Menu from the famous old vessel The SS Canberra from the P&O Line shipping company which is dated Friday 5th May 1989 and is in great condition and original from the vessel.

CONDITION -- Very Good

HISTORY -- The SS Canberra was an ocean liner, which later operated on cruises, in the P&O fleet from 1961 to 1997. She was built at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, Northern Ireland at a cost of 17,000,000. The ship was named on 17 March 1958, after the federal capital of Australia, Canberra. She was launched on 16 March 1960, sponsored by Dame Pattie Menzies, GBE, wife of the then Prime Minister of Australia, Robert Menzies. She entered service in May 1961, and took her maiden voyage starting in June. During the 1982 Falklands War, she served as a troop ship.

LUNCHEON MENU FOR THE OLD CUNARD VESSEL THE QUEEN ELIZABETH DATED MAY 1959

DESCRIPTION -- From the Cunard Line vessel the Queen Elizabeth and is an original ship luncheon menu. It is a rare find from this vessel and it is dated 30th May 1959 and is in a very good condition.

CONDITION -- Very Good

HISTORY -- The RMS Queen Elizabeth was an ocean liner operated by the Cunard Line. With her running mate Queen Mary she provided luxury liner service between Southampton, the United Kingdom, and New York City, the United States, via Cherbourg, France. She was also contracted for over twenty years to carry the Royal Mail as the second half of the two ships' weekly express service.

LUNCHEON MENU FROM THE CUNARD LINE VESSEL THE RMS QUEEN ELIZABETH DATED MAY 1959

DESCRIPTION -- Luncheon menu from the RMS Queen Elizabeth from the Cunard Line shipping company and is in a fantastic condition and is dated 28th May 1959.

CONDITION -- Very Good

HISTORY -- The RMS Queen Elizabeth was an ocean liner operated by the Cunard Line (after its merger with the White Star Line). Along with her sister ship Queen Mary, she provided luxury liner and immigrant service between Southampton, England (UK), and New York, New York (US), via Cherbourg, France on Continental Europe. She was also contracted for over 20 years to carry the Royal Mail, thus enabling her to carry the prestigious Royal Mail Ship (RMS) designation, as the second half of the two ships' weekly express service.

HISTORY -- The SS Oriana was the last of the Orient Steam Navigation Company's ocean liners. She was built at Vickers-Armstrongs, Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England and launched on 3 November 1959 by Princess Alexandra. Originally resplendent with her owners' traditional corn coloured hull, Oriana appeared as an Orient Line ship until 1966, when that company was fully absorbed into the P&O group.

DESCRIPTION -- Dinner menu from the SS Canberra from the P&O Line shipping company and is in a fantastic condition and is dated Monday 2nd December 1991 and is the 'Captain's Farewell Dinner'.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- The SS Canberra is one of the most famous ships of the P&O Line. In the early 1970's she was almost scrapped as the need for passenger liners diminished. Air travel was becoming ever cheaper and oil prices were increasing dramatically. A last minute reprieve saw the ship transferred to the growing cruising market. She never looked back. In 1982 Canberra became an national heroine as she transported British troops into the war zone of the Falkland Islands. After the conflict, "The Great White Whale" as she had become known, returned home to a fantastic welcome in Southampton.

CONDITION -- Very Good

HISTORY -- The SS Canberra was the first modern liner, with engines located after to increase passenger space, and many other innovations. She personified the best in design of her era, having an extremely elegant profile. By carrying emigrants on the ten pound assisted passages to Australia, she provided many happy memories for them, as she also did for the many who sailed aboard her in her later incarnation as a cruise ship. Canberra was the ship that began the affordable cruise industry in England.
