HISTORY -- The Bank Line was registered in 1905 by Andrew Weir. Weir originally started in ship owning in Glasgow in 1885 with sailing ships. His fleet contained sailing ships until 1912 but had already started purchasing steam ships in 1896. "Bank" had been used in the name of Weir's ships from the outset.

DESCRIPTION -- B/W photograph of the Louis Dreyfus Group Shipping Line vessel 'Louis LD' which is an original old photograph and not a copy.

CONDITION -- Excellent
HISTORY -- LD Lines is a French shipping company. It is predominantly a freight operator, with both deep-sea and ferry operations, but also operates some passenger services. Its ferry routes are on the English Channel and Mediterranean Sea. The company is a subsidiary of the Louis Dreyfus Group. Louis LD was just one of those vessels associated with the Louis Dreyfus Group Shipping Line.
