DESCRIPTION -- Original postcard from the Cunard Line vessel The Invernia, which is in full colour showing a picture of the ship at sea. The postcard would have been purchased on board and has been posted. Also accompanying this item is an unused as new mint condition piece of writing paper, with the vessel and its name at the top and both items are a rare find.

CONDITION -- Unused/Good
HISTORY -- The SS Ivernia was a British ocean liner owned by the Cunard Line, built by the company Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson of Newcastle upon Tyne, England and launched in 1899. The Ivernia was one of Cunard's intermediate ships, that catered to the vast immigrant trade. Her sistership was SS Saxonia. The Ivernia worked on Cunard's service from Liverpool to Boston and then later on the immigrant run from Trieste to New York City.

HISTORY -- The RMS Queen Elizabeth 2, often referred to simply as the 'QE2', is a retired Cunard ocean liner, now owned by Nakheel, a division of Dubai World. She was named after the earlier Cunard liner RMS Queen Elizabeth, and served as the flagship of the line from 1969 until succeeded by RMS Queen Mary 2 in 2004. Built in Clydebank, Scotland, she was considered the last of the great transatlantic ocean liners built for over four decades before the construction of the QM2.

DESCRIPTION -- From the old liner the Queen Mary a round shape decorative glass dish. It reads on it 'RMS QUEEN MARY' and is in a great condition for an old piece and the size of the dish is 3" (9.5cm) wide.

HISTORY -- RMS Queen Mary is a retired ocean liner that sailed the North Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967 for the Cunard Line (then Cunard-White Star when the vessel entered service). Built by John Brown and Company, Clydebank, Scotland, she was designed to be the first of Cunard's planned two-ship weekly express service from Southampton to Cherbourg to New York, in answer to the mainland European superliners of the late 1920's and early 1930's.

HISTORY -- Cunard Line is an American owned, British operated shipping company. It has been a leading operator of passenger ships on the North Atlantic for over a century. In 1839, Canadian-born Samuel Cunard was awarded the first British transatlantic steamship mail contract, and the next year formed the British and North American Royal Mail Steam-Packet Company to operate the line's four pioneer paddle steamers on the Liverpool-Halifax-Boston route.

DESCRIPTION -- From the liner the Queen Elizabeth 2 and is a Duffel Bag Souvenir. It is an early item from this vessel and the size is 17" x 12" (41cm x 30cm). The Duffel Bag is marked with the Cunard Line name and symbol and has the vessel's name across it. It is in a very good condition and appears to be virtually unused.

DESCRIPTION -- An ornamental dish from the Cunard Countess of the Cunard Shipping Company which is a heart shaped piece and has the 'Lion' figure to the centre. It is also inscribed 'Cunard Princess' with the size being 3" (8cm) wide and it is in an excellent condition.

HISTORY -- Cunard Princess set on her first cruise from New York City to the Caribbean in March 1977, joining her elder sister MS Cunard Countess in the Caribbean cruise service. At the time the Cunard Princess was registered in Southampton, but in 1980 she was moved to the Bahamian registry, with Nassau as her homeport. Later during her career with Cunard the ship started cruising around Europe, while the Cunard Countess remained in Caribbean service.
