DESCRIPTION -- Unused B/W postcard of the Royal Mail Line vessel the RMSP Arcadian which is in an excellent condition and is an early postcard.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- Royal Mail Lines (RML) was created in 1932 and took over the ships of Royal Mail Steam Packet Company and other companies of the former group.  The Royal Mail Line was taken over in 1965 by Furness, Withy & Company and ships often interchanged between the Royal Mail Line, Furness and Shaw Savill & Albion Lines fleets. By 1972 Royal Mail had virtually disappeared as a separate shipping line.

DESCRIPTION -- Original photograph postcard of the old vessel The SS Chusan which is unused and in a mint condition and is just one of our vast stock collection.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- The SS Chusan was a British ocean liner and cruise ship, built for the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O)'s Indian and Far East Service in 1950. She was named after Chusan, a small island off China. A smaller version of the SS Himalaya, the Chusan had a gross register tonnage of approximately 24,215; and a capacity of 1,565 passengers and crew. She was built as a replacement for the ship RMS Viceroy of India, lost in the Second World War. She was approximately 646.5 feet (197.1 m) long.

DESCRIPTION -- Unused colour postcard from the old Cunard White Star Line vessel the RMS Aquitania which is original and in an excellent condition.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- RMS Aquitania was a British ocean liner of Cunard Line in service from 1914 to 1950. She was designed by Leonard Peskett and built by John Brown & Company in Clydebank, Scotland. She was launched on 21 April 1913 and sailed on her maiden voyage to New York on 30 May 1914. Aquitania was the third in Cunard Line's grand trio of express liners, preceded by RMS Mauretania and RMS Lusitania, and was the last surviving four-funnelled ocean liner.

DESCRIPTION -- Unused B&W postcard from the Cunard Line vessel the RMS Scythia which is in a very good condition.
[ONLY 1 AVAILABLE]

CONDITION -- Very Good

HISTORY -- The RMS Scythia was a Cunard liner. She sailed on her maiden voyage in 1921, and became a troop and supply ship during the Second World War. Scythia was the longest serving Cunard liner until 4 September 2005, when her record was surpassed by MS Queen Elizabeth 2.

NOTES -- Having now been established for many very successful

B/W POSTCARD OF THE ORIENT LINE VESSEL THE RMS ORFORD

DESCRIPTION -- Early used B/W postcard of the Orient Line vessel The Orford which is in a good condition and is just one of our vast stock collection.

CONDITION -- Good

HISTORY -- Built for Orient Lines in 1928, the SS Orford was loaned to France during WW2 as a troop carrier. She ran aground in Marseilles while evacuating troops in 1940. It took seven years for her to be refloated, after which she was scrapped.  She made many journeys between Australia and England in the 1930's. In 1934 she carried Don Bradman's cricket team 'The Invincibles' from Australia to England along with the Australian Davis Cup tennis team.

DESCRIPTION -- Superb unused colour postcard from the famous vessel the RMS Queen Elizabeth and it is in immaculate near mint condition and is just one of our vast stock collection.

CONDITION -- Excellent 
 
HISTORY -- The RMS Queen Elizabeth was an ocean liner operated by the Cunard Line and was contracted to carry Royal Mail as the second half of a two-ship weekly express service between Southampton and New York City via Cherbourg. At the time of construction in the mid-1930's by John Brown and Company in Clydebank, Scotland, she was known as Hull 552, but she was later named in honour of Queen Elizabeth, Queen Consort at the time of her launch on 27 September 1938, and in 1952 became the Queen Mother.

DESCRIPTION -- Early postcard of the White Star Line vessel The RMS Samaria and is a very rare find and has been stamped on the back Malta. 

[ONLY 1 AVAILABLE]

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- Throughout the 1920s and 1930s RMS Samaria was frequently employed as a cruise ship. In September 1940 she took part in the evacuation of children from the UK to the US under the scheme set up by the Children's Overseas Reception Board (CORB). In 1941 the ship was taken over by the Royal Navy and served as a troopship until 1948 when she was returned to Cunard and refitted for passenger service.

DESCRIPTION -- Unused colour postcard from the White Star Line vessel The Ceramic and an extremely rare find and to have available for sale. Like all vessels having an interesting life and history, this particular liner is no exception.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- The Ceramic was built by Harland and Wolff, Belfast in 1912 for the White Star Line. Her route was the Australian Service and she began shortly after her launch in 1913. The next year, 1914, Ceramic began what was to be an illustrious military career and began serving as a troop transport. (WWI).

B/W ORIGINAL OLD POSTCARD OF THE UNION-CASTLE LINE VESSEL THE ATHLONE CASTLE

DESCRIPTION -- Early unused B/W postcard of the Union Castle Royal Mail Motor vessel the MV Athlone Castle which is in a very good condition.
[ONLY 1 AVAILABLE]

CONDITION -- Very Good

HISTORY -- The MV Athlone Castle, a motor vessel of 25,564 grt was delivered in 1936 to Union Castle by Harland & Wolff's Belfast Yard for use on that Company's service from Southampton to South Africa. In 1940, she was requisitioned for use as a troopship and took troops from the UK to North Africa in late 1940. She was returned to her owners in 1946 and after a refit, she resumed her duties on the mail and passenger service to South Africa. She continued serving faithfully until 1965 when she was sold for scrapping in Taiwan.

HISTORY -- HMS Britannic was the third vessel of the White Star Line's Olympic class of steamships and the second White Star ship to bear the name Britannic. She was the fleet mate of both the RMS Olympic and the RMS Titanic and was intended to enter service as a transatlantic passenger liner.
