DESCRIPTION -- Unusual design china mug from the US battleship the USS Alabama which is made of a plastic type material.

CONDITION -- Very Good
HISTORY -- USS Alabama (BB-60), a South Dakota-class battleship, was the sixth ship of the United States Navy named after the US state of Alabama. Alabama was commissioned in 1942 and served in World War II in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. Alabama was decommissioned on 9 January 1947 and placed in the reserve fleet in Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Bremerton, Washington. In 1964, Alabama was towed to Mobile Bay and opened as a museum ship the following year. The ship was added to the National Historic Landmark registry in 1986.

DESCRIPTION -- Superb item from the Hamburg America Line and is an original cabin ashtray (as seen from many adverts and pictures of the time). The size is 4" (10cm) square and is in a very good condition and an early item and a very rare find.

HISTORY -- The Hamburg-Amerikanische Packetfahrt-Actien-Gesellschaft (HAPAG for short, often referred to in English as Hamburg America Line (sometimes also Hamburg-American Line, Hamburg-Amerika Linie or Hamburg Line) was a transatlantic shipping enterprise established in Hamburg, Germany, in 1847.

DESCRIPTION -- A china map dish from the Cunard Line vessel MS Sagafjord. The size is 6" (16.5cm) wide and it covers a South Pacific and Orient Odyssey cruise from January 6th to April 27th 1991. It is in an as new condition.

CONDITION -- Unused
HISTORY -- The MS Sagafjord was an ocean liner built in 1965 by Société Nouvelle des Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée for Norwegian America Line as the combined ocean liner/cruise ship. Between 1983 and 1996 the Sagafjord was operated by Cunard Line. In 1996 - 1997 she was briefly operated by Transocean Tours as MS Gripsholm prior to being sold to Saga. She was lastly owned and operated by Saga Cruises on worldwide cruises targeted at the senior market out of the United Kingdom, known as the MS Saga Rose . She was retired from service in October 2009.

DESCRIPTION -- This item is 5" (13cm) wide and is a beautifully decorated blue floral china dish from the Japanese shipping company the Mitsui OSK Line. It is circa 1960's and in a fantastic nearly new condition and the type of item purchased and used on board the vessel.

HISTORY -- MOL (Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.) (Kabushiki-gaisha Shsen Mitsui) is a Japanese transport company headquartered in Toranomon, Minato, Tokyo, Japan. The company's main area of operations is international shipping. Its alligator logo can be seen on containers in ports around the world. Founded as a key part of the Mitsui zaibatsu (family-owned conglomerate) during the early industrialization of Japan, the company is now independent of the zaibatsu, but remains part of the Mitsui keiretsu (group of aligned companies).

DESCRIPTION -- This is pair of items from a collection entitled 'Fair Winds' and are original copper engravings. They are depicting Historical Scenes of Chinese Export to America. They were made by 'Alfred Meakin' in Staffordshire, England several years ago. The china pieces show different views and are a large plate and a cup & saucer.

CONDITION -- Good
HISTORY -- Alfred was the brother of James and George Meakin (See J & G Meakin) and founded the pottery in 1874. He ran a very successful business mass producing tableware for both the domestic market, and the growing export market of the 40's and 50's. In 1976 the pottery merged with Myott, Son and Co, who were later bought by the Churchill Group in 1991.

Established since 1797 this item stands out from the rest by its beautiful design and would be a fantastic item to have on display. DESCRIPTION -- This item from the Norwegian American Cruises shipping company celebrates a World Cruise for one of its vessels. This is the ship Sagafjord and was during January 7th - April 8th 1983 and the item is a display plate which shows on it the route taken during the World Cruise and is in a great condition with the size being 6" (16cm).

CONDITION -- Excellent
HISTORY -- The Norwegian America Line (Norwegian: Den Norske Amerikalinje), was a cruise ship line, originally an operator of passenger and cargo ships. Founded in 1910, the company ran a regular transatlantic service between Norway and the United States, and later to East Africa as well. Primarily due to competition from air travel, transatlantic passenger voyages were discontinued in 1971.
