HISTORY -- The SS Canberra was an ocean liner, which later operated on cruises, in the P&O fleet from 1961 to 1997. She was built at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, Northern Ireland at a cost of 17,000,000. The ship was named on 17 March 1958, after the federal capital of Australia, Canberra. She was launched on 16 March 1960, sponsored by Dame Pattie Menzies, GBE, wife of the then Prime Minister of Australia, Robert Menzies. She entered service in May 1961, and took her maiden voyage starting in June. During the 1982 Falklands War, she served as a troop ship.

HISTORY -- The SS Orcades started service as a British Royal Mail Ship (RMS) carrying first and tourist class passengers, and was an ocean liner serving primarily the UK, Australia and New Zealand route. Orcades carried many migrants to Australia and New Zealand and was later used as a cruise ship by the P&O Line. "Orcades" is the Latin name for the Orkney Islands.

DESCRIPTION -- Dinner menu from the RMS Queen Elizabeth from the Cunard Line shipping company and is in a fantastic condition and is dated 27th May 1959.

CONDITION -- Very Good
HISTORY -- The RMS Queen Elizabeth was an ocean liner operated by the Cunard Line (after its merger with the White Star Line). Along with her sister ship Queen Mary, she provided luxury liner and immigrant service between Southampton, England (UK), and New York, New York (US), via Cherbourg, France on Continental Europe. She was also contracted for over 20 years to carry the Royal Mail, thus enabling her to carry the prestigious Royal Mail Ship (RMS) designation, as the second half of the two ships' weekly express service.

HISTORY -- The first Oriana was built in 1960 by Vickers-Armstrong's, Barrow. Ordered by, and registered to the Orient Steam Navigation Co, she was delivered to P&O Orient Lines with the distinctive Orient Line corn-coloured hull. She served on the route to Australia from Southampton (unlike earlier Orient Liners which sailed from London).

DESCRIPTION -- Dinner menu from the SS Oronsay from the P&O Line shipping company and is in a fantastic condition and is dated 27th June 1972 (click on the picture to see inside of menu).

CONDITION -- Excellent
HISTORY -- The SS Oronsay was the second Orient Line ship built after World War II. A sister ship to Orcades, she was named after the island of Oronsay off the west coast of Scotland. The SS Oronsay continued to operate under the Orient houseflag and retained her corn-coloured hull until 1964, when her hull was painted P&O white.
