HISTORY -- The P&O European Ferries service were formerly known as Townsend Thoresen and much of its present history is when it was a forging ferry company, and are well known through out the world.

DESCRIPTION -- Original souvenir lapel pin from the vessel the SS Oceanic from the Home Line shipping company, which is in a very good condition and dates from the late 1960's.

CONDITION -- Good
HISTORY -- The SS Oceanic was a cruise ship owned and operated by Peace Boat. She was built in 1965 by Cantieri Riuniti dell' Adriatico, Monfalcone, Italy for Home Lines. Between 1985 and 2000, she sailed for Premier Cruise Line under the names Starship Oceanic and Big Red Boat I, before being sold to Pullmantur Cruises and reverting to her original name. In 2009 she left the Pullmantur fleet for Peace Boat.

DESCRIPTION -- Original souvenir lapel pin from the Donaldson Line vessel the TSS Captain Cook, which is in a good condition and dates from the 1950's.

CONDITION -- Good
HISTORY -- The company was founded in 1855 as the Donaldson Brothers. They acquired their first ship in 1858, a wooden barque, and it was placed in service between the Clyde, Brazil and the River Plate. About 1880, they added routes from Glasgow to Quebec and Montreal. In 1894, Bristol to Montreal was added but was soon discontinued due to a lack of freight. They became Donaldson Line Limited in 1913.

DESCRIPTION -- Original souvenir lapel pin from the vessel the MS Devonia from the British India Steam Navigation Line, which is in a very good condition and dates from the 1950's.

CONDITION -- Very Good
HISTORY -- British India Steam Navigation Company ("BI") was formed in 1856 as the Calcutta and Burmah Steam Navigation Company. The company had been formed out of Mackinnon, Mackenzie & Co, a trading partnership of the Scots William Mackinnon and Robert Mackenzie, to carry mail between Calcutta and Rangoon. It became British India SN Co in 1862.

DESCRIPTION -- Original souvenir lapel pin badge* from the vessel the SS Otranto from the Orient Line, which is in a very good condition and dates from the 1930's/1940's. (*There are many other lapel pin badges in stock)

CONDITION -- Good
HISTORY -- RMS Otranto was an ocean liner that was built for the Orient Steam Navigation Company in 1925. The "RMS" prefix stands for Royal Mail Ship, as she carried overseas mail under a contract between Orient Line and Royal Mail. Otranto was in service until 1957, when she was sold for scrap.

DESCRIPTION -- Very rare to find original lapel pin souvenir from the Cunard Line vessel the RMS Sylvania which is dated from the 1950's and which is in a very good condition. Unlikely to see too many more available for sale.

CONDITION -- Very Good
HISTORY -- RMS Sylvania was an ocean liner built in 1957 by John Brown & Co (Clydebank), Glasgow, Scotland for the United Kingdom-based shipping company Cunard Line. She was the last Cunard Line vessel built specifically for transatlantic crossings. The ship was later heavily rebuilt as a cruise ship, and sailed under the names SS Fairwind, SS Sitmar Fairwind, SS Dawn Princess and SS Albatros before being scrapped in 2004. She was renamed SS Genoa for her last voyage.

CONDITION --
HISTORY -- The P&O Line originally established ferry services in the United Kingdom in the late 1960s in the North Sea and the English Channel. In the late 1970s P&O was affected by a reduction in traditional shipping activities which saw the sale of a number of its businesses and assets. This continued into 1985 with the sale of its cross-channel ferry activities to European Ferries, which at the time consisted of services on the Dover - Boulogne and Southampton - Le Havre routes.

DESCRIPTION -- Original souvenir lapel pin from the vessel UK passenger vessel the Dominion Monarch, which is in an excellent condition and dates from the 1940's.

CONDITION -- Very Good
HISTORY -- Dominion Monarch was a UK passenger and refrigerated cargo liner. Her name was a reference to the Dominion of New Zealand. The ship was built in England in 1937-39, and when new she set a number of records for her size and power. She operated between Britain and New Zealand via Australia in civilian service 1938-40 and 1948-62 and was a troop ship 1940-47. She spent half of 1962 in the Port of Seattle as a floating hotel for the Century 21 Exposition and was then scrapped in Japan.

HISTORY -- The Duke of Argyll was a railway steamer passenger ship that operated in Europe from 1956 to 1975. Along with her sister ships the TSS Duke of Lancaster and the TSS Duke of Rothesay she was among the last passenger-only steamers built for British Railways (at that time, also a ferry operator).
