DESCRIPTION -- Souvenir spoon from an Arun Lifeboat which is in its original box and appears to unused and as new and dates from the 1970's showing a view of the lifeboat and name at the top (click on the picture for a closer look at the top of the spoon)

CONDITION -- Unused (as new)
HISTORY -- The Arun class lifeboat is a fast all-weather lifeboat designed by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) for service at its stations around the coasts of Great Britain and Ireland. They were operated by the RNLI between 1971 and 2008. Many have been sold to see further service in the lifeboat and coastguard services of other countries. The class takes its name from the River Arun in Sussex, England.

CONDITION --
HISTORY -- P&O Ferries is a British-based company that operates ferries from the United Kingdom to Ireland and Continental Europe (France, Belgium and the Netherlands). These were previously operated at different times as separate subsidiaries of P&O under the various different names.

DESCRIPTION -- From the RMS Queen Elizabeth a superb condition souvenir spoon and is dated from the 1960's. It shows at the top a colour picture of the vessel and also the name and the size is 5" (13cm) long (click on the picture to see a close up of the top of the spoon).

CONDITION -- Excellent
HISTORY -- RMS Queen Elizabeth was an ocean liner operated by the Cunard Line. With her running mate Queen Mary, she provided luxury liner service between Southampton, UK and New York City, USA via Cherbourg, France. She was also contracted for over twenty years to carry the Royal Mail as the second half of the two ships' weekly express service.

HISTORY -- The Queen Elizabeth 2, often referred to simply as the QE2, is an ocean liner that was operated by Cunard from 1969 to 2008. Following her retirement from cruising, she is now owned by Istithmar (the investment company of Dubai World). She was designed primarily to run a transatlantic service from her home port of Southampton, England, to New York, USA, and was named after the earlier Cunard liner RMS Queen Elizabeth (see Name section). She served as the flagship of the line from 1969 until succeeded by RMS Queen Mary 2 in 2004.

DESCRIPTION -- Souvenir spoon from the Rotterdam Lloyd Line shipping company and the vessel the Willem Ruys which is 4" (12cm) long and is in a very good condition and shows the name and picture of the vessel at the top of the spoon.

CONDITION -- Very Good
HISTORY -- The Rotterdam Lloyd Line started life in 1839 as Willem Ruys, using sailing ships to trade with the Dutch East Indies and Far East. The company underwent a number of name changes: to Stoomboot Reederij "Rotterdamsche Lloyd" (Rotterdam Lloyd) in 1875, Stoomvaart Maatschappij Rotterdamsche Lloyd (Rotterdam Steam Navigation Co) in 1881 and in 1883 to N.V. Rotterdamsche Lloyd. In 1970 Rotterdam Lloyd merged with Royal Interocean Lines and VNSM to form Royal Nedlloyd.

CONDITION -- Good
HISTORY -- The Cunard Princess was Christened by Princess Grace of Monaco in New York. She was launched as Cunard Conquest, but her name was changed to Cunard Princess while ship was being fitted out. Cunard Princess set on her first cruise from New York City to the Caribbean in March 1977, joining her elder sister MS Cunard Countess in the Caribbean cruise service.

DESCRIPTION -- From the vessel the Prinses Beatrix of the Nederland Line this is a souvenir egg spoon which is in an excellent condition and shows at the top a cutout of the vessel (click on the picture to see a closer view of the top of the spoon).

CONDITION -- Good
HISTORY -- The Prinses Beatrix was built in 1978 by Verolme Shipyard, in Heusden, The Netherlands and worked for Stoomvaart Maatschappij Zeeland on their joint Sealink route between Hoek van Holland and Harwich, Parkeston Quay. She was named and launched by H.R.H. Princess Beatrix on 14 January 1978. Brittany Ferries bought the ferry on 1 October 1985, and after chartering it for a year back to SMZ, renamed it Duc de Normandie, operating between Portsmouth and Ouistreham from 5 June 1986.

HISTORY -- The Australian Oriental Line was a shipping company that operated between Sydney and Hong Kong. It was formed in 1912 by G.S. Yuill & Company. The company closed in 1961 due to the high costs of acquiring new vessels or refitting the existing fleet.

She was named after the earlier Cunard liner RMS Queen Elizabeth (see Name section), and served as the flagship of the line from 1969 until succeeded by RMS Queen Mary 2 in 2004. Built in Clydebank, Scotland, she was considered the last of the great transatlantic ocean liners built for over four decades before the construction of the QM2.
