DESCRIPTION -- Unused colour postcard from the old Cunard White Star Line vessel the RMS Aquitania which is original and in an excellent condition.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- RMS Aquitania was a British ocean liner of Cunard Line in service from 1914 to 1950. She was designed by Leonard Peskett and built by John Brown & Company in Clydebank, Scotland. She was launched on 21 April 1913 and sailed on her maiden voyage to New York on 30 May 1914. Aquitania was the third in Cunard Line's grand trio of express liners, preceded by RMS Mauretania and RMS Lusitania, and was the last surviving four-funnelled ocean liner.

IN SERVICE POSTCARD FROM THE CUNARD LINE VESSEL THE QE2

DESCRIPTION -- Unused postcard from the Cunard Line vessel the QE2  which is in full and is in a very good and is as new condition.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- The QE2 was designed for the transatlantic service from her home port of Southampton, UK to New York, United States and was named after the earlier Cunard liner RMS Queen Elizabeth. She served as the flagship of the line from 1969 until succeeded by RMS Queen Mary 2 in 2004.

DESCRIPTION -- Colour postcard from the old Cunard Line vessel the RMS Scythia which is original and in a good condition.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- RMS Scythia was a Cunard liner. She sailed on her maiden voyage in 1921, and became a troop and supply ship during the Second World War. Scythia was the longest serving Cunard liner until 4 September 2005, when her record was surpassed by MS Queen Elizabeth 2.

NOTES

CONDITION -- Good

HISTORY -- The RMS Andania was a British ocean liner launched in 1921. She was the first of six 14,000 ton "A"-class liners built for the Cunard Line in the early 1920s. The other ships were Antonia, Ausonia, Aurania, Ascania, and Alaunia.

VERY EARLY COLOUR POSTCARD FROM THE BLUE FUNNEL LINE VESSEL THE SS PATROCLUS

DESCRIPTION -- From the Blue Funnel Line this is an early colour postcard from the Bibby Line vessel the SS Patroclus which is in a very good condition and is unused.

CONDITION -- Very Good

HISTORY -- The SS Patroclus was a UK steam turbine passenger and refrigerated cargo liner launched in 1923. She was the third of five ships to bear the name.  In the Second World War Patroclus served as an armed merchant cruiser. A U-boat sank her in November 1940 with the loss of 76 of her complement.

HISTORY -- 
SS Southern Cross was an ocean liner built in 1955 by Harland & Wolff, Belfast, Northern Ireland for the United Kingdom-based Shaw, Savill & Albion Line for Europe—Australia service. In 1975 she was rebuilt as a cruise ship and subsequently sailed under the names Calypso, Azure Seas and OceanBreeze until 2003 when she was sold for scrap to Ahmed Muztaba Steel Industries, Chittagong, Bangladesh.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- 
SS Ceramic was a British ocean liner built in Belfast originally for White Star Line in 1912–13 and operated on the Liverpool – Australia route. Ceramic was the largest ship serving the route until P&O introduced RMS Mooltan in 1923. In 1934 Shaw, Savill & Albion Line took over White Star's Australia route and acquired Ceramic.

DESCRIPTION -- Unused B/W postcard of the Royal Mail Line vessel the Danube which is in an excellent condition and is an early very rare postcard.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- The Royal Mail Steam Packet Company was a British shipping company founded in London in 1839 by a Scot, James MacQueen. The line's motto was Per Mare Ubique (everywhere by sea). After good and bad times it became the largest shipping group in the world in 1927 when it took over the White Star Line.  The company was liquidated and its assets taken over by the newly formed Royal Mail Lines in 1932.
